Teaching kids about time, days of the week, dates, holidays, seasons, and the weather is such an important part of PreK and the early elementary years! The best way to do this is with a changeable calendar during daily calendar time first thing in the morning.
Most Daily Calendars for kids are bright and distracting with too many loose pieces that can be easily lost. That’s why I created a nice, simple daily calendar time printable. I wanted something that would look good in my house, be functional, and not get lost.
The Daily Calendar Time Printable Includes:
- Seasons
- Weather
- Months
- Dates 1 to 31
- Days of the Week
- Major Holidays
These are all of the main things you’ll need to make your daily calendar time run smoothly. Keep it simple. Have the kids help by telling you what month it is, what day it is, and look out the window to see what the weather looks like.
Have fun with it and add some songs too! These are a great way for kids to memorize months & days of the week.
I remember learning a song for the days of the week set to the Adams Family theme song when I was in first grade. It stuck so well that I could still sing it now! (But I’ll spare you!)
I recommend printing on card stock and laminating for maximum durability. Keep the cards that aren’t in use in zip lock bags inside a cute small basket.
We use a cork board with push pins and clips to hang our daily calendar. When you get yours set up, tag me on Instagram @hustleandhomeschool so that I can see it!
